Colobiotic

Colobiotic Zenyth is available in enteric-coated capsules, designed to protect the probiotic strains during passage through the stomach and ensure their release in the small intestine, where effective colonisation takes place. 

Each capsule contains a standardised probiotic complex, with 20 billion CFU, combined with 250 mg of inulin. 

Zenyth Colobiotic is recommended for:

• Restoring gut flora compromised by antibiotics, unbalanced diets, stress or infections.
• Supporting immunity by stimulating lymphocyte activity and improving the intestinal barrier.
• Improving digestion and normalising bowel movements, whether in cases of constipation or diarrhoea.
• Reducing bloating, abdominal cramps and gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Irritable bowel syndrome and leaky gut, by regulating the local inflammatory response.
• Reducing lactose intolerance by increasing lactase activity.
• Protection whilst travelling, against indigestion and pathogenic germs.
• Intestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections, as an adjunct in restoring microbiotic balance.

The dosage regimen depends on age:

• Children over 6 years: 1 capsule per day, taken whole or opened, the contents of which can be mixed with water, milk or yoghurt.
• Adults: 2 capsules per day or as directed by a healthcare professional, preferably taken with meals for optimal tolerability.

Administration may continue on a short- or long-term basis, depending on the clinical context, and is often recommended both during and after a course of antibiotics to restore the microbiota.

Zenyth Colobiotic is generally well tolerated, but must not be used in the following situations:

• Children under the age of 6, unless otherwise indicated by a specialist.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding, with administration only upon medical authorisation.
• Severe immunosuppression or immunosuppressive therapy, where the administration of probiotics must be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
• Known allergy to any of the excipients (e.g. gellan gum or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).

Thanks to its content of spore-forming bacilli, the Colobiotic formula is highly resistant to gastric acidity and the action of antibiotics, which allows it to be taken alongside antibiotics, provided that a minimum interval of 2 hours is observed between the two products. 

Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains are known for their ability to adhere to the intestinal mucosa and form beneficial biofilms, which prevent the adhesion of pathogens and reduce inflammation. 

The Colobiotic probiotic is generally well tolerated, but the following may occur:

• Mild bloating or temporary abdominal discomfort in the first few days, as the gut flora adjusts.
• Changes in bowel movements, which are temporary and self-limiting.
• In rare cases, allergic reactions to the excipients.

These effects are mild and disappear spontaneously.

Colobiotic may be taken at the same time as antibiotics, provided a minimum interval of 2 hours is observed.

No significant interactions with other supplements or medicines are known, but caution is advised in the case of immunosuppressive treatments.

Administration with high-fibre foods may enhance the prebiotic effect of inulin.

Overdose of Colobiotic is unlikely due to the high safety profile of probiotics. Taking doses significantly higher than those recommended may cause marked bloating or accelerated bowel movements, without serious consequences. In the event of discomfort, it is recommended to adjust the dose and ensure adequate hydration.

Store in the original, tightly closed packaging. Store in a dry place, away from light and heat. Once opened, it is recommended to store in the fridge to maintain the viability of the strains. Use before the expiry date shown on the packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
