Curiosin

The product is available as a transparent, odourless gel that does not stain the skin or clothing. The gel comes in a concentration of 0.1% in a 15 g tube.

The composition includes zinc hyaluronate, carbomer (gelling agent), potassium sorbate (preservative) and purified water.

Curiosin is indicated for the care of affected or problematic skin, as well as for the treatment of acute or chronic wounds. There are two types of use:

• Without a prescription, in the following cases:
  • Skin irritation caused by radiation;
  • Dry or flaky skin;
  • Superficial wounds (abrasions, minor cuts, scratches);
  • Mild burns (first and second degree);
  • Mild to moderate acne vulgaris.
• Under medical supervision, for:
  • Chronic wounds such as venous leg ulcers, eschar, diabetic ulcers;
  • Closed surgical wounds;
  • Postoperative care of incisions.

Curiosin is administered exclusively by topical application. Before application, the affected area should be thoroughly cleaned with water or saline solution. Apply a thin layer (approximately 1 mm) to the entire surface of the wound.

• For dry, irritated or problematic skin, the gel can be applied several times a day, as needed.
• In the case of superficial wounds, covering with a sterile dressing is optional.
• For minor burns, it is recommended to initially cool the affected area under running water, followed by application of the gel.
• For chronic or surgical wounds, use should only be under medical supervision as part of a complex therapy (e.g. infection control, compression, blood sugar control).

Curiosin is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components, including zinc hyaluronate or potassium sorbate.

Curiosin should not be applied to mucous membranes, in the eyes or in internal cavities.

The tip of the tube should not touch the wound or other surfaces to avoid contamination. It is recommended that the product be used by a single patient to prevent the risk of infection.

Once opened, the tube should be used within 4 weeks and the cap should be tightly closed after each use.

The gel can be used on children and adults, but in the case of chronic wounds, medical advice should be sought.

Adverse effects reported with the use of Curiosin are rare and usually mild. They may occur at the beginning of treatment:

• Erythema (local redness);
• Mild burning or stinging sensation;
• Transient local pain.

The appearance of persistent signs of inflammation, infection or lack of signs of healing after a few days requires discontinuation of use and consultation with a specialist.

Curiosin is a topical preparation with no significant systemic absorption. Therefore, interactions with systemically administered drugs are practically non-existent.

However, concomitant application of other ointments or creams to the same area is not recommended, as potential physical-chemical interaction may alter the product's effectiveness.

Given its topical use and non-toxic composition, the risk of overdose with Curiosin is practically zero. Repeated or excessive application is not associated with systemic adverse effects.

However, inappropriate use on infected or improperly cleaned wounds may delay the healing process.

The product should be stored at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Check the packaging for integrity before first use. After opening, the tube should be discarded after 4 weeks, even if not completely used.
