Epinerv
Description Epinerv
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.fr team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Epinerv is a dietary supplement formulated with epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a bioactive polyphenol derived mainly from green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), known for its antioxidant, neuroprotective and cell metabolism-modulating properties.
Thanks to its ability to accumulate selectively in certain tissues, including at the neuronal level, EGCG exerts a complex action on cellular homeostasis, limiting oxidative stress, inhibiting neurotoxic processes induced by substances such as glutamate and nitric oxide, and supporting the integrity of nerve structures.
Forms of release
Epinerv is available in tablets, packaged in bottles of 30 tablets.
Each tablet contains a standardised amount of Sunphenon® EGCG 90% green tea extract, which guarantees a high content of epigallocatechin gallate, together with excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, dibasic calcium phosphate, silicon dioxide and anti-caking agents.
Indications for use
Epinerv is recommended in cases where it is necessary to support neuronal function and protect nerve structures, thanks to its multiple mechanisms of action:
- Neutralisation of free radicals and reduction of oxidative stress, a mechanism involved in numerous degenerative processes.
- Modulation of cell proliferation and turnover, promoting an optimal balance of tissue regeneration.
- Inhibition of glutamate and nitric oxide neurotoxicity, factors which, if present in excess, can irreversibly damage neurons.
- Protection of nerve cells from age-related degeneration or situations where they are metabolically compromised.
- Support for the function of the optic nerve and retina, contributing to the maintenance of eye health in conditions of oxidative stress, ageing or visual fatigue.
- Normalisation of nerve cell function, with potential benefits for neurosensory homeostasis.
Thanks to these actions, Epinerv is the preferred choice for maintaining the health of the nervous system and, in particular, for protecting ocular structures subject to progressive deterioration.
Dosage regimen
The recommended dose for adults is 1–2 tablets per day, to be taken after meals with a glass of water. Postprandial administration optimises gastrointestinal tolerance and promotes the absorption of polyphenols.
The duration of treatment may vary depending on the clinical context, but long-term use is often necessary to achieve cumulatively beneficial antioxidant and neuroprotective effects.
Contraindications
Epinerv is not recommended for:
- people with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients;
- pregnant and breastfeeding women, due to a lack of clinical data on the safety of EGCG administration during these periods;
- patients with severe liver disease
The product is not intended for children and should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.
Special instructions for use
When using Epinerv, it is important to follow certain essential recommendations:
- People with mild liver disorders or a history of intolerance to green tea extracts should consult their doctor before starting treatment.
- If taken alongside stimulants or caffeine, it is recommended to monitor tolerance, as catechins may affect their absorption.
Side effects
Epinerv is generally well tolerated, but the following may occur:
- mild gastrointestinal disturbances (epigastric discomfort, nausea);
- headache, palpitations or agitation in people sensitive to green tea compounds;
- rarely, allergic skin reactions.
Side effects are usually temporary and can be prevented by taking the medicine after meals.
Interactions with other medicines and food
Catechins may interact moderately with certain medicines such as:
- Oral antidiabetics
- Hepatotoxic drugs
- Anticoagulants (warfarin)
- Antidepressants
Excessive caffeine consumption may increase sensitivity to catechins, causing palpitations or anxiety in susceptible individuals.
Overdose
An overdose of EGCG is unlikely at the recommended doses, but excessive intake may cause:
- severe gastrointestinal disturbances,
- temporary liver damage,
- a feeling of restlessness or insomnia.
In such cases, it is recommended to stop taking the product and, if symptoms persist, to consult a doctor.
Storage conditions
Epinerv should be stored:
- at room temperature, protected from moisture;
- in the original, tightly closed packaging;
- out of the reach of children and away from sources of excessive light or heat.
The product must be used before the expiry date shown on the packaging.
