Bonium Maxx

Bonium Maxx is available in the form of film-coated tablets, packaged in boxes of 30 units. This form allows for easy oral administration and precise dosing of the active ingredients. The tablets can be swallowed with water, preferably during meals to promote the absorption of calcium and fat-soluble vitamins.

Calcium Bonium Maxx is recommended in various situations involving either a calcium deficiency or an increased calcium requirement, such as:

• periods of accelerated growth (in children and adolescents);
• pregnancy and breastfeeding (with medical advice);
• menopause and postmenopause (for the prevention of osteoporosis);
• already diagnosed osteopenia or osteoporosis;
• prevention of fragility fractures in the elderly;
• supporting tooth and muscle health;
• functional coagulopathies caused by hypocalcemia.

The usual recommended dose is 1 to 2 tablets per day, taken orally with meals.

The daily dose may be adjusted according to individual calcium requirements, age, gender, physical activity level, and hormonal status.

Bonium Maxx is contraindicated in the following situations:

• hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels);
• hypercalciuria (excessive urinary excretion of calcium);
• calcium kidney stones;
• severe renal impairment;
• known allergy to any of the product's excipients or active ingredients.

Caution is advised in patients undergoing coumarin anticoagulant therapy due to potential interactions with vitamin K2.

A notable feature of this supplement is its natural source of calcium, eggshell, which is recognized for its high bioavailability, with absorption estimated at over 90%.

In addition, vitamin K2 (in the form of menaquinone-7) has the ability to direct calcium exclusively to bones and teeth, reducing the risk of vascular deposits or pathological calcifications.

Bonium Maxx is generally well tolerated. However, in rare cases, side effects such as the following may occur:

• mild gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, bloating, constipation);
• hypercalcemia (manifested by excessive thirst, polyuria, muscle weakness);
• hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash, pruritus, angioedema – very rare).

If unusual symptoms occur, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult a doctor.

Concomitant use of Bonium Maxx with certain drugs may alter their absorption or effect:

• Thiazide diuretics may increase serum calcium levels;
• Iron, zinc, or magnesium preparations may interfere with calcium absorption, and an interval of at least 2 hours between doses is recommended;
• Anticoagulants may be less effective in the presence of vitamin K2;

Other possible interactions may occur with antihypertensive drugs, levothyroxine, antibiotics (fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines), digoxin, bisphosphonates.

Excessive calcium intake can lead to hypercalcemia, manifested by symptoms such as fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, polyuria, constipation, and heart rhythm disturbances. In severe cases, kidney damage or tissue calcification may occur.

Treatment of overdose involves discontinuation of administration, intensive hydration, and, if necessary, pharmacological measures under medical supervision.

Bonium Maxx should be stored in its original packaging at room temperature (below 25°C), away from light, moisture, and children. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging. No special refrigeration conditions are required.
