Dermatix

Dermatix comes in the form of a silicone gel for topical use, in 15 g tubes. Its transparent, non-greasy and easy-to-apply texture allows for quick integration into the daily skincare routine.

Due to its semi-permeable and elastic nature, the film formed after application maintains the physiological hydration of the skin and protects the scar from external factors.

Silicon Dermatix is indicated for:

• Prevention and treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars, whether recent or old;
• Scars resulting from surgery (plastic surgery, general surgery, skin tumor excisions, biopsies);
• Post-burn scars, trauma;
• Skin areas that are exposed or subject to frequent movement (face, neck, joints, skin folds);
• Sensitive skin or patients at high risk of excessive scarring;
• Situations where the aesthetic appearance of the scar has a significant psychological impact on the patient.

The application of Dermatix requires following clear steps:

1. Clean the affected area with soap and water, followed by careful drying by patting;
2. Apply a very thin layer of gel to the scar twice a day (morning and evening);
3. Allow the product to dry completely, approximately 4-5 minutes, before applying makeup or other cosmetic products;
4. If drying takes longer than 5 minutes, the amount applied is excessive and the surplus must be removed.

The minimum recommended duration of use is 2 months, but treatment can be continued until maximum benefit is achieved. 

Dermatix is contraindicated in the following situations:

• Open or infected wounds where epithelialization is not complete;
• Known hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the product;
• Use on mucous membranes or in close proximity to the eyes.

Dermatix can be applied to areas exposed to the sun, provided that a sunscreen product is also used.

The product is compatible with makeup and sunscreen, making it suitable for visible areas.

For faster drying in warm weather, the tube can be stored in the refrigerator, and in cold weather, it is recommended to expose the treated area to a stream of air at medium temperature.

Dermatix is generally very well tolerated. Mild local irritation, erythema, or a transient burning sensation have rarely been reported.

These effects are usually reversible and disappear once the method of use is adjusted.

As a topical gel, Dermatix has minimal systemic interactions. It can be used concomitantly with cosmetics and sunscreen, but only after it has dried completely.

Simultaneous application with other medicinal ointments on the same area is not recommended in order to avoid diluting the effect.

No cases of overdose have been reported, as systemic absorption is insignificant. Applying an excessive amount does not increase effectiveness, but only prolongs drying time and may promote skin maceration.

Dermatix scar reduction should be stored at room temperature in a dry, cool place. Keep away from direct sources of heat or open flames. Keep out of the reach of children. Observe the expiry date stated on the packaging.
