VisuXL
Description VisuXL
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.fr team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
VisuXL is an innovative product designed to relieve the symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome and regenerate the ocular surface affected by external or internal factors. These sterile, preservative-free eye drops are a unique combination of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (XLHA), coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E TPGS, designed to protect, moisturise and support the repair of corneal and conjunctival tissues.
Forms of release
VisuXL is available as sterile eye drops in a 5 ml bottle with a preservative-free 3K dosing system. This system allows for controlled release of the solution, preventing contamination of the bottle after opening.
Through its combination of ingredients, VisuXL acts both as a lubricant and a cell regenerator.
Indications for use
VisuXL eye drops are indicated for the treatment and prevention of symptoms caused by damage to the ocular surface, particularly in:
- Dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), regardless of aetiology – hormonal, metabolic, iatrogenic or induced by environmental factors.
- Ocular trauma caused by foreign bodies, mechanical irritation or prolonged contact with dry air.
- Metabolic disorders, especially diabetes mellitus, which can affect the regeneration of the ocular epithelium.
- Exposure to aggressive environmental factors such as air pollution, cigarette smoke, air conditioning, chlorinated water or artificial microclimates.
Dosage
The recommended dose for Visu XL is 1–2 drops in each eye, administered twice a day or as directed by your ophthalmologist. In cases of severe eye discomfort or intense exposure to irritants, the frequency of administration may be temporarily increased without risk of accumulation or irritation.
The solution should be applied carefully, avoiding contact with the tip of the bottle or other surfaces.
Contraindications
Visu XL eye drops are generally well tolerated, but there are some situations in which their use is contraindicated or requires caution:
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components.
- Active bacterial, viral or fungal eye infections, where administration should only be done under medical supervision.
- Post-surgical patients in the acute phase, where treatment must be adapted by an ophthalmologist.
If a persistent burning sensation, pain or eye irritation occurs after application, treatment should be temporarily discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Special features
VisuXL stands out for its preservative-free formula, ideal for chronic use and for patients with sensitive eyes or a history of allergies. Cross-linked hyaluronic acid (XLHA) provides long-lasting hydration compared to simple forms of sodium hyaluronate, thanks to a more stable molecular network that is more resistant to enzymatic degradation.
Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E TPGS have a synergistic antioxidant action, reducing local oxidative stress and accelerating corneal cell regeneration, which is essential for healing microlesions in the eye.
Side effects
Adverse reactions are rare and mild, consisting of:
- A slight burning or stinging sensation immediately after application;
- Transient irritation of the conjunctiva;
- Slightly blurred vision for a few seconds after instillation, due to the viscosity of the solution.
These symptoms disappear spontaneously and do not require discontinuation of treatment. In exceptional cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, in which case administration should be stopped and medical evaluation is recommended.
Interactions with other medicines and food
VisuXL has no known interactions with other ophthalmic or systemic medicines. However, if other eye drops are administered concomitantly, an interval of 10–15 minutes between instillations is recommended to avoid dilution or interference of the solutions.
Overdose
No cases of overdose with VisuXL have been reported. Due to topical use and minimal systemic absorption, the risk of toxic reactions is virtually non-existent. In case of accidental overdose, it is recommended to rinse the eye with sterile saline solution.
Storage
VisuXL drops should be stored at room temperature (below 25°C), away from direct sources of heat and light. The bottle should be kept tightly closed between uses.
After opening, the solution can be used for 60 days, after which it is recommended to discard the bottle even if it still contains liquid, in order to prevent microbial contamination.
