The ActivLab Pharma ® KreoActiv Plus formula is based on a complex of digestive enzymes that do not have animal origin. DigeZyme ® is a unique, proprietary blend of 5 specific enzymes, namely:
- α-amylase - an enzyme that hydrolyzes starch,
- protease - an enzyme that hydrolyzes proteins,
- lipase - an enzyme that hydrolyzes fat,
- cellulase - an enzyme that hydrolyzes cellulose,
- lactase - an enzyme that hydrolyzes lactose.
It is known that enzymes are an essential part of every chemical reaction that takes place in our body. Different biological reactions are regulated by different types of enzymes. Most nutritional supplements currently available on the market contain digestive enzymes from animal sources, which cannot be included in a vegan diet. The so-called Microbial enzymes, often called "plant enzymes", are of bacterial or fungal origin and are produced by fermentation using these microorganisms. Therefore, they can be used successfully by people following a vegan diet.
