The active ingredients of Allefin are diphenhydramine hydrochloride and lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate . 1 g of gel contains 20 mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride and 10 mg lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate.
Diphenhydramine blocks the action of histamine, responsible for allergic reactions, which reduces redness, swelling and exudation of the skin, and also has an anti-itching and analgesic effect. Lidocaine, on the other hand, has a local anesthetic effect and its effects can be felt just 2 minutes after application to the skin.
