Willow (Epilobium parviflorum) is a green perennial plant belonging to the primrose family. It reaches sizes up to 1 meter tall and can be found both in Poland and other parts of Europe, as well as in Africa, the Middle East, India and China. Known and appreciated for centuries in folk herbs, it has now begun to be noticed by modern researchers.

Urinary tract support and relief of menopausal symptoms

Willow extracts have become the subject of numerous scientific studies due to their chemical composition. It contains substances such as beta-sitosterol, phenols and flavonoids (1). Many plants in the Epilobium genus are being analyzed for their beneficial effect on the human body, and although tests on the plant are still ongoing, its beneficial effect on alleviating menopausal symptoms and supporting the urinary tract has already been confirmed (2).

Although willow has only recently been noticed by modern science, it has been used in folk herbs for hundreds of years, for example as a tea infusion. The herbs used to prepare it were collected in the spring and then dried for later use.
