Description
Tea Tree essential oil, 10 ml, Justin Pharma
Properties:
Tea tree oil is a pale yellow essential oil with a fresh camphor smell. It is extracted from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, a small tree native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.
- Strong antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, detoxifying, disinfectant, antifungal
Tea tree oil has been used as a traditional medicine by Aboriginal people for centuries. These native Australians crush tea tree leaves to extract the oil, which is then inhaled to treat coughs and colds or applied directly to the skin to heal wounds.
Today, tea tree oil is widely available as 100% undiluted oil.
Diluted forms are also available, ranging from 5-50% concentration in skin cosmetics. Tea tree oil contains a number of compounds, including terpinen-4-ol, which have been shown to be effective in killing certain bacteria, viruses or fungi. Terpinen-4-ol also appears to increase the activity of your white blood cells, which help fight germs and other foreign invaders.
These germ-fighting properties make tea tree oil a natural adjuvant used in bacterial and fungal skin conditions and fighting infection.
Mode of use:
MASSAGE: 3-5 drops per 50 ml vegetable oil
- beneficial in soothing the stinging and itching of pimples and irritations, helps to eradicate parasites and fungi - e.g. pecingenea is applied locally but undiluted. A few drops can be added to shampoo to eliminate dandruff and soothe itchy scalp.
