Hyalotend, 20 mg, 3 pre-filled syringes, Fidia Farmaceutici

Properties:
- Hyalotend is a viscous solution of sodium salt of hyaluronic acid (500-730 kDa) obtained by bacterial fermentation, in buffered saline solution, for peritendinous injection;
- the solution (20mg/2ml) is contained in a pre-filled syringe and is supplied sterile;
- hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the synovial fluid, at the same time hyaluronic acid is also produced in the normal sheath of the tendon and is a main component of the extracellular matrix of the tendon;
- due to its visco-elastic properties, the administration of the exogenous sodium salt of hyaluronic acid in the peritendinous space allows the reduction of the surface friction of the tendons, increases the gliding capacity, reduces pain and improves functioning in the case of tendinopathy, thus accelerating the return to normal activities and practice sport.

How to use:
Administration of the product should only be performed by qualified physicians.
If necessary, administer with an ultrasound probe to guide the injection.
All rules regarding asepsis and injection technique must be observed.
Disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts should not be used concurrently with the product, as hyaluronic acid may precipitate in their presence.
Use an appropriate sterile needle (21-25 G) as directed by the physician.
Discard the syringe and needle after one use.
Administer 3 peritendinous injections of the product at one-week intervals, as needed, as directed by the physician.
If necessary, several tendons can be treated at the same time.
Each syringe is intended for a single injection into the tendon.
Repeat treatments may be given if needed.

Ingredients:
Main ingredient: sodium salt of hyaluronic acid
Other components: sodium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, water for injections.

Precautions:
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
Do not use the product if the packaging is open or damaged: the sterility of the solution is guaranteed as long as the primary packaging is closed and undamaged.
The syringe is single-use, which means it is intended for one use for one patient only.
The assembled syringe should be discarded immediately after use, whether or not the solution has been completely administered.
If a syringe is kept for another injection there is a risk of contamination which could lead to illness, infection and/or serious injury to the patient.
If this product is reprocessed and (or) reused, Fidia pharmaceuticals cannot guarantee the performance, operation, material structure, cleanliness and sterility of the product.
Reprocessing and/or reuse could cause serious harm to patient health and safety.
After use, the product must be disposed of according to applicable national regulations.
As with any invasive procedure at the joint level, it is recommended that the joint is not overstressed immediately after the peritendinous injection.
Keep out of reach of children.
The product must be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging protected from light.
Do not freeze.
