Description
Hydrocoll hydrocolloid dressing is recommended for uninfected wounds and bedsores. It is self-adhesive. By absorbing exudate from the wound, the hydrocolloid particles turn into gel, maintaining a moist environment at the wound level. The outer polyurethane film is impermeable to germs and liquids, protecting the wound from external impurities and allowing daily toileting. The dressing is changed atraumatically, leaving no traces of gel. Characteristics: - Speed and excellent absorption capacity - Easy application - Increased wearing comfort thanks to the thin, very malleable material Indications: - Non-infected wounds with reduced and moderate secretions - Wounds with poor healing tendency and slow formation of granulation tissue (e.g. calf ulcer, eschar) - Areas where skin grafts are taken Changing the dressing The dressing is removed at the moment of discolouration and the formation of a blister the size of the wound. Contraindications and adverse effects: Do not use Hydrocoll in deep bedsores with muscle, tendon or bone extension, on infected wounds or in case of third degree burns.
