Chlorella (Chlorella vulgaris) is a unique unicellular green alga. Chlorella contains high levels of chlorophyll, nucleic acids, amino acids, enzymes, vitamins and minerals.

Because the digestive tract has difficulty breaking down the tough cell wall of chlorella, Solgar offers chlorella that has undergone a special manufacturing process where all cell walls have been completely broken down without damaging the contents of the chlorella cells.
