Swanson® Maximum Strength Plant Sterols is a plant sterol dietary supplement designed to supplement the daily diet of adults. Each capsule contains CardioAid ® Phytosterols - an ingredient that provides min. 95% plant sterols. Contains beta sitosterol, campesterol, sigmasterol, brassicasterol and beta sitostanol in an amount of 400 mg per softgel capsule.
What are plant sterols?
Plant sterols or phytosterols are chemical compounds that belong to the same group as cholesterol. However, they are not synthesized endogenously in the human body. They occur naturally in plants as a component of their cell membranes. The main source of phytosterols in a daily diet, properly selected, can be rapeseed, sunflower, sesame, corn and soybean oil.
Plant sterols/plant stanols help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect occurs when a minimum of 0.8 g of plant sterols/plant stanols is consumed per day, from all food sources.
CardioAid ® Beta Sitosterol Cardiovascular Health is just 1 softgel capsule with added plant sterols per day. A 60-pack will provide 2 months of daily supplementation with ingredients that support normal blood cholesterol levels.
