Composition:
The flowering aerial part of the species Veronica officialis, popularly called ventrilica. This is a medium-sized plant spread through forests, clearings, pastures, having elliptical leaves and lilac-blue and pink-white flowers.
Active principles:
Aucubinic glycosides, tannin, saponoids, bitter substances, volatile oil in very small quantities, caffeic acid, vanillic acid, protocatechuic acid, etc.
Therapeutic action:
Stomach, hypocholesterolemic, diuretic, cicatrizing, depurative, diseases of the respiratory system, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, hoarseness.
Recommendations:
Internal : adjuvant in hepatobiliary disorders, bitter tonic, stomachic, recommended in atherosclerosis, hypercholesterolemia, anorexia.
External : burns, wounds, eczema.
Administration method:
Internally: infusion of 1 teaspoon of the plant in 250 ml of boiling water, leave covered for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink 2-3 cups of tea a day, before meals, for 21 days, with a 10-day break, resuming the treatment if necessary.
Externally: concentrated infusion of 2 teaspoons of the plant in 250 ml of boiling water in the form of compresses.
