Although well tolerated, Pregna may cause some minor side effects, such as:

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, constipation, diarrhoea);
• Allergic reactions (skin rash, itching) in rare cases;
• Transient metallic taste due to the presence of iron.

If severe side effects occur, use of the product should be discontinued and patients advised to consult their doctor.

Iron absorption may be reduced if the product is taken at the same time as foods rich in calcium (e.g. dairy products) or certain medicines (antacids, tetracyclines).
