Anigel

UniGel is available as rectal suppositories specifically designed to treat acute and chronic anal and rectal mucosal wounds. The suppositories are in the form of a white colored torpedo and contain HEMA-HAS copolymer in a fatty base (Adeps solidus). The package contains 10 suppositories arranged in blisters.

There is also a hydrophilic gel form used for the treatment of superficial skin wounds, packaged in a 5g tube.

UniGel Procto is recommended for:

• Anal fissures
• Hemorrhoids, including reduction of associated symptoms such as bleeding, burning and itching
• Treatment of post-operative wounds in patients who have undergone hemorrhoid ligation treatment

The product supports the natural healing process of the rectal and anal mucosa, reducing the discomfort associated with these conditions.

Unigel rectal suppositories are administered once a day, preferably in the evening before bedtime or as recommended by your doctor.

The duration of treatment should not exceed 30 days. If symptoms do not improve or worsen within 7 days, the patient should consult a doctor.

The use of UniGel Procto is contraindicated in the following cases:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the product ingredients.
• Insufficient rectal length (in children under 3 months or premature infants).

Important. The product should be used with caution in cases of severe constipation or diarrhea, massive bleeding, the presence of abscesses, fistulas or other rectal lesions or in patients who have undergone bowel resection. In such cases, consultation with a doctor should be sought.

Suppositories should be inserted into the rectum, if possible after defecation and local hygiene. They are inserted with the pointed end pointing towards the anus and preferably with the patient slightly bent forward.

The product is intended for rectal use only. It should not be used in other regions of the body.

In patients with increased sensitivity, minor symptoms of irritation of the rectal mucosa, such as slight burning or itching, may occur.

If these symptoms persist or worsen, use of the product should be discontinued and the patient should consult a doctor.

There is no specific information on interactions between UniGel Procto and other medicines or foods. However, in order to avoid any interferences, patients should inform their doctor if they also use other local anorectal treatments.

Overdosage with UniGel Procto is unlikely due to rectal use and the recommended once-daily dose. In case of accidental overdosage, medical advice should be sought.

UniGel should be stored at temperatures below 25°C, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children. The product is disposable and must not be reused. Respect the expiry date indicated on the packaging in order to benefit from the effectiveness of the product.
