Histamin is an innovative veterinary supplement, formulated using natural compounds with immunomodulatory and antihistamine properties, intended for dogs and cats exhibiting allergic symptoms of various aetiologies. Histamin Control stands out for its ability to influence the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the release and action of histamine, thereby helping to reduce inflammatory and allergic reactions.
Forms of supply
Histamin Control is available as oral tablets, tailored to different weight categories of animals. Variants include Histamin Control (10, 60, 120 or 300 tablets) and Histamin Control Large Breed (8, 60 or 240 tablets), specially formulated for large breed dogs.
This variety allows for easy administration and precise dosing, tailored to the individual needs of the veterinary patient.
Indications for use
Histamin Control is recommended for cases of food allergies, allergic dermatitis, urticaria, eczema, allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma. It can also be used in situations where there is immune hyperreactivity, helping to regulate the immune response by reducing exaggerated reactions to allergens.
Its mechanisms of action are supported by the active ingredients: quercetin, a flavonoid with natural antihistamine properties; beta-glucans, which modulate the immune response by stimulating macrophages; nettle extract, with anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects; bromelain, with anti-inflammatory and oedema-reducing properties; MSM, which limits histamine binding at the tissue level.
Dosage regimen
Histamin Control Stangest is administered orally, depending on the animal’s body weight.
The recommended dose is 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight, administered twice daily. For the large-breed variant, the dose is 1 tablet per 25 kg, twice daily.
Contraindications
Histamin Control for dogs and cats is not intended for human consumption and is contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components.
Furthermore, it should be used with caution in animals with severe systemic conditions or in situations where complex concomitant treatments are being administered, and prior veterinary assessment is required.
Special considerations
An important aspect of using Histamin Control for cats and dogs is its nature as a dietary supplement, which implies a gradual action and the need for sustained administration to achieve optimal results.
The product can also be integrated into complex treatment regimens, including in combination with conventional antihistamines or corticosteroids, helping to reduce their doses.
Side effects
Histamin Control is generally well tolerated by dogs and cats, thanks to its composition based on natural ingredients.
Mild digestive disturbances, such as diarrhoea or temporary abdominal discomfort, may rarely occur. Allergic reactions to the product’s components are possible but extremely rare.
Interactions with other medicines and food
The product can be used in combination with other drug therapies, including corticosteroids or synthetic antihistamines, with no major interactions reported. However, close monitoring of the patient is recommended, particularly when supplements or drugs with immunomodulatory effects are administered concurrently.
From a nutritional perspective, incorporating the product into a hypoallergenic diet may enhance the therapeutic effects.
Overdose
No severe toxic effects have been reported in cases of overdose; however, administration of quantities greater than those recommended may increase the risk of adverse gastrointestinal reactions. In the absence of a specific antidote, management is symptomatic and consists of discontinuing administration and clinical monitoring of the animal.
Storage conditions
The product must be stored in its original packaging at temperatures below 25°C, protected from moisture and direct light. It is essential that the product is kept out of the reach of children and animals to prevent accidental ingestion.
