Proktis-M

Proktis-M is available in several pharmaceutical forms to meet the needs of users: Proktis-M ointment, Proktis-M suppository or Proktis-M cleansing foam.

• The ointment comes in a 30 g tube for topical application. It includes a cannula to facilitate intrarectal administration.
• The suppositories come in a box of 10 pieces, each containing 5 mg of hyaluronic acid, along with other active ingredients.
• Proktis active cleansing foam comes in a 150 ml bottle and is intended for effective cleansing of the anal area after proctologic procedures.

Proktis-M is recommended as an adjuvant treatment in the following conditions:

• Healing of the anorectal canal after proctologic surgery
• Internal and external hemorrhoids
• Proctitis and cryptitis
• Anal fissures and mucosal tears
• Perianal fistulas
• Anal and rectal infections of various etiologies

Proktis M Active Cleansing Foam is an innovative formula designed for daily cleansing of the perianal area in people with hemorrhoids, proctitis, cryptitis, anal fissures or anal itching. Proktis-M foam immediately creates a feeling of freshness and has a soothing effect.

Proktis M ointment contains white petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, polidocanol, escin beta-sitosterol phytosomes, glycyrrhetic acid phytosomes, BHT and sodium hyaluronate.

Proktis M suppositories contain sodium salt of hyaluronic acid 5 mg, gotu kola (Centella asiatica), calendula, aloe vera, tea tree, semisynthetic glycerides and butylhydroxytoluene. These ingredients have an emollient and soothing effect on the anorectal area.

Proktis-M ointment is applied topically in a thin layer twice a day, in the morning and evening, preferably after the evacuation of feces. Intrarectal application may be made with the enclosed cannula.

In the case of Proktis-M suppositories, one suppository is administered daily, preferably in the evening before bedtime. The duration of treatment depends on the course of symptoms and the doctor's recommendations.

Proktis-M should not be used if:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women without consulting a doctor.

Proktis-M is characterized by high tolerability, but it is important to observe certain precautions:

• Wash hands before and after application.
• Avoid contact with the eyes.
• Use strictly according to doctor's instructions or package leaflet.

Although Proktis-M is generally well tolerated, side effects may rarely occur, such as:

• Local allergic reactions (irritation, rash, pruritus)
• Temporary burning sensations at the application site.

If severe side effects occur, discontinue use and consult your doctor.

There are no known significant interactions between Proktis-M and other medicines or foodstuffs. However, to avoid possible incompatibilities, it is advisable to consult a doctor in case of concomitant use of other products for rectal administration.

To date, no cases of overdose with Proktis-M have been reported. However, excessive use may increase the risk of local irritation. In such situations it is recommended to discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.

Store at temperatures below 25°C, away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of the reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
